You are invited to a symposium on the important theme
“The Power of Experiential Learning to Develop Strategic Skills and Attitudes that Last”
Thursday, 9 October 2008, 17.30 – 19:00,
Troy University, Vangerowstr. 18/1, 69115 Heidelberg
How much experiential learning do you integrate in your approach to develop strategic competencies such as:
· Leadership
· Creativity
· Communication
· Teamwork/cooperation
· Cultural awareness
· Emotional intelligence
In this symposium we will discuss:
· What leads to successful learning
· What is experiential learning
· The role of the facilitator
· Experiential learning methods
And because talking about it is no substitute for the experience, you will have the opportunity to take part in some exercises. This will allow you to realize in a playful way the effectiveness of experiential learning to quickly develop communication skills.
Our featured speaker, Frederique Thiriet-Smith, has worked in multinational companies for over 25 years, as project manager and education specialist, successfully leading multicultural teams with various reporting structures. What drives Frederique is a love of facilitating change and improving corporate communication while focusing on the human aspects of business.
Some years ago, she became interested in improvisation theatre techniques, which she now uses along with other playful activities as a tool for personal development, leadership, change management, team building, creativity, and communication skills development. She promotes the use of experiential learning techniques to develop and improve those competencies at international companies.
To encourage networking and lifelong learning, the symposium is free of charge!
