Programme

The unique, accelerated general management program at GISMA Business School is a thrilling alternative to a traditional two-year MBA. Purdue University’s Krannert School of Management has a long history of offering its top-ranked MBA Program in this condensed format.

As a student at GISMA, you will complete the same 17 core curriculum courses that are part of a full two-year program. The one-year timeframe is rigorous, but the solid foundation of core courses complemented by focused electives is exellent preparation for furthering your career.

The program starts in August each year and is devided into five modules of eight weeks each. There will be exams at the end of every module. Students will have classes in up to five different courses per module. Because GISMA has a cooperation with Purdue University, students have the opportunity to spend one module in the US.

During the 11 months of the programme, students get into contact with ca. 30 professors from all around the world. By lectures, plant visits, student projects and the annual MBA Career Fair students continously have contact with companies. During the whole programme students are supported in their career planning by the GISMA Career Center.

Organisation

The GISMA building, originally planned and designed as a convention center, reflects the appealing characteristics of modern architecture. Representative and communicative in style, the entrance hall welcomes visitors and students to an open and friendly atmosphere. Light colors dominate the interior while large glass windows allow daylight to flow through.

Built like an amphitheatre, the auditorium seats 120 people. In addition, plenty of seminar rooms are available for individual study or group work. The state-of-the-art equipment enables interactive teaching in excellent conditions.

A cafeteria in the foyer serves as a meeting point for both professors and students during a break or after classes. Here you have a chance to discuss topics with your colleagues over a coffee or simply relax reading a newspaper.

Study in Hannover

Hannover is a city of contrasts. Those who come with a portion of curiosity and a healthy appetite will find that things of today and of yesterday are just a few yards apart. Half-timbered houses and the charms of the 11th century old town stand beside the striking modern architecture and diversity of the city that hosted EXPO 2000 and is the home of CeBIT, the world’s largest IT fair. Traditionally important as a trade fair city, Hannover is the vigorous and enterprising home of such global corporations as Continental AG, Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles, Hannover Re and TUI Group.

Hannover is conveniently located in the heart of Germany and Europe and is highly accessible. The city serves as a hub of the high-speed train system, and a 90 minute train ride will take you to Berlin or Hamburg.

Among the more than 500,000 Hannoverians, there are now 40,000 young people from all over the world studying in the city. The city’s international character is reflected in the large number of restaurants offering foreign food. The selection of modern pubs, cafes and traditional restaurants is growing all the time.
