Programme

The programme “Master of Arts in International Management” prepares students for managerial functions and leadership positions in internationally operating companies.

As the “Centre of Excellence for the Service Industry”, we pay special attention to the challenges and demands of the service industry and prepare our students for a career in this, the largest business sector of the world’s major economies. While qualifying students for general management functions, the programme allows for a specialisation in either International Marketing, International Human Resource Management or Finance & Accounting. The combination of profound academic knowledge and its practical application is constantly pursued and constitutes a major objective of the programme.

Intensive training in soft skills enriches the curriculum for the Master of Arts in International Management and finetunes leadership qualities and negotiation skills.

Target audience

Master-Thesis

Practical relevance

The effective combination of theory and practical applicability is an essential feature of the programme. With the help of case studies, practical exercises and project work, students shall be enabled to apply the theory and transfer it to real-life business situations.

The curriculum reflects the international orientation of the programme and focuses on international as well as intercultural aspects. Students benefit from the international experience of our professors and lecturers and are trained to meet the challenges of a global business world.

Admission requirements:
  • Bachelor degree in business/ economics or a related field
  • Final mark indicating at least “average/satisfactory”
  • TOEFL (minimum score 80, ibt) or IELTS (minimum score 6.0)
  • Candidates meeting the formal entrance requirements will be invited for an interview.
Duration:
The duration of each programme is three semesters + MA thesis.

Starting dates are in March and September each year.

The International University of Applied Sciences Bad Honnef · Bonn is an English-speaking university in Service Management. It is our focus to prepare the Bad Honnef students with an excellent academic education combined with a strong practical orientation. Our educational specialisation in service management together with strong industry contacts throughout Europe provide us with a well-known reputation. Nestled on the banks of the river Rhine, and on the fringes of the Seven Mountains National Park, the town of Bad Honnef is an idyllic location and safe environment for our study programmes.

Bad Honnef is just a few kilometres away from the former German capital, Bonn, and other major cities like Cologne, Frankfurt, and Düsseldorf. Many Western European capitals, such as Paris, Brussels and Amsterdam can also be reached in less than 2 hours. Cologne International Airport, only 25 minutes away from the Bad Honnef Campus, is Europe’s leading hub for low cost airlines, such as Germanwings. There is a convenient train connection from Bad Honnef to Cologne/Bonn airport that runs every 30 minutes. Also, Frankfurt International Airport is only 40 minutes away by train.
