ProgrammeThe Master programme in “International BuildingProject Management” [IBPM] provides you with the knowledge and tools to structure and manage complex projects: either selfemployed, as a ‘project entrepreneur’ for an international consulting company or as a project-leading architect or engineer in a design firm. In the Master programme “International Infrastructure Technology& Management” [IITM], you will be equipped with the technical and management skills to be able to successfully develop and implement local and international infrastructure strategies for the future. Career PerspectivesStudents will broaden their perspective and knowledge base in a rapidly changing environment in thereal estate industry. Through the IBPM as well as the IITM course, students will be prepared to enter a new career level, move to management positions or simply offer their respective clients a different range of services that will be an added value. |

Emphases/CurriculumThe programme is offered in a three semester (S3) or afive semester (S5) version, allowing students to combine part-time work and studies. The S3 version lasts two semesters plus a subsequent master thesis. Students must be present two days a week and for en bloc seminars, which usually take place at the weekends. Studies in the S5 version last 4 semesters plus a semester for the subsequent master thesis. Students must be present one day a week and for en bloc seminars. Following the master’s degree, the MBA degree (below) can be acquired at the partner university in Great Britain. This involves an additional semester and a thesis. Modules- Technical Knowledge- Management Basics - Effective People Management - Project Management - Managing Real Estate - Managing Business & Finance - Managing Information - International Workshops Master ThesisDuring the programme, students are supported in developingperspectives for their future career. The master thesis gives students the chance to develop a subject which is their area of interest and in accordance with their own experience. It can be developed in cooperation with a company, thus providing the direct possibility of making contacts to businesses and/or with potential future employers. |
Practical relevanceIn cooperation with the John Moores University (JMU) inLiverpool, Stuttgart University of Applied Sciences offers an additional MBA course as a supplement to the inclusive master programme in International Project Management. Half of the modules successfully taken in Stuttgart will be accepted at JMU. Students acquire comprehensive economic and business expertise, providing additional necessary skills. In addition to the synergies outlined in the brochure, it is possible to write one master thesis for both the M.Eng. and the MBA. The elements provided in the degree course, plus the possibility of a cross-university master thesis offer a university programme which is unique in terms of costs, time and relevance. |

| A Higher Education degree in the fields of Building Engineering, Planning or Infrastructure Technologies is required for admittance. Admission with another professional background is possible in individual cases. Evidence must be given of relevant work experience of at least one year as well as basic knowledge of Economics. Fluent English skills are mandatory. Basic knowledge of the German language favourable. |

OrganisationTradition and Innovation – key characteristics of the HFT Stuttgart. Founded in 1832 as the “Winter School for Building Craftsmen”, today the HFT Stuttgart offers a broad spectrum of accredited Bachelor and Master’s degree courses.Our three faculties offer a total of 14 Bachelor and 13 Master Programmes. Our campus is located directly in the centre of Stuttgart, the business centre of South-West Germany. At the HFT Stuttgart we specialise in teaching practical skills in small groups. 3000 students are taught by about 100 professors, who are supported by over 200 part-time lecturers. Not only technical knowledge is taught, but also interpersonal skills such as team building and the ability to work on interdisciplinary projects.
