Business executives must forge and maintain good business relations on global markets. They can only do so successfully if they are able to identify opportunities and risks in business processes and projects at an early stage, to react in an appropriate way and to efficiently translate consensuses into a sound contract. International strategic management processes require long-term and extensive decisions. The master course „International Strategic Management“ of the SRH University of Applied Sciences offers a comprehensive programme for this that prepares you for an international career. The study includes innovation management to incorporate technological foresight, commercialization and the protection of intellectual property in the decision making process. For estimating and evaluating the occurring risks, risk management in value creation and finance, as well as continental-European law and company law, are a part of the study topics.

Today, operating on an international level is required in almost every economic sector and area. With knowledge of global management such as intercultural management and European & international legal framework for foreign trade, you can bring international business relations to a successful end. The know-how that is essential for contract conclusions is presented in the subject area of contract management such as contract knowledge management and law on contract design, negotiation and conflict management, international private law & comparison of legal orders. You will obtain the necessary background knowledge on contracts that non-lawyers require to close international deals and sustain good business relations.

All these contents are imbedded in a sequence of real-life projects and are presented during project development and project work. The projects are characterised by working with interdisciplinary case studies of deffering topics.

Target audience

A Master’s degree in International Strategic Management prepares students with a Bachelor’s degree in engineering,industrial engineering, computer sciences and business administration for a management career, for example as project manager or contract manager, or as an interdepartmental risk manager. Alternatively, you will be well equipped to start your own business.

The course is designed to give you constant interaction with companies regarding various projects. When you graduate you will already have two years’ business experience under your belt to complement your degree. This dramatically improves your chances on the professional labour market. The projectbased Master’s degree opens the door to demanding executive positions in risk management, project management and contract management. Requirements for admission: A Master’s degree in International Strategic Management prepares students with an academic degree (e.g. Bachelor/Diploma) in Business Administration, Industrial Engineering, Economic Informatics, Engineering or Informatics for a management career, for example as project manager or contract manager, or as an interdepartmental risk manager. Alternatively, you will be well equipped to start your own business. In case of other study courses (also from abroad) the examination committee will decide on acceptance and, possibly, special conditions. Since the entire degree is held in English, all applicants must prove sufficient linguistic proficiency in order to participate successfully in the degree. Proof will be accepted in the form of a completed TOEFL-Test level 550 (CBT 213) or any qualification similar to the TOEFL (e.g. IELTS (academic): minimum score of 6, 5; TOEIC: minimum score of 750). The degree is not an in-service training offer, but rather a non-consecutive, practical (applied) degree as defined by the Conference of the Ministers of Culture Sept. 22, 2005 according to § 9 II HRG. SRH Hochschule Berlin, which since October 2007 is part of the non-profit SRH Group, is a private German University of Applied Sciences situated in the heart of Berlin.

SRH University Berlin currently has 100 students, 8 professors, 2 lecturers, 2 scientific employees, 8 part time lecturers and 4 employees in the university administration. The expansion of the undergraduate level, increasing the number of students to 200, is expected to be achieved by 2007. The introduction of English-speaking academic programmes at Bachelor level began in 2006.

SRH University Berlin is located centrally at Ernst-Reuter-Platz, offering convenient transport possibilities from the TU Berlin campus, which is situated right next to SRH University Berlin. Other universities, research institutes or companies can also be quickly reached.
