Programme

The MBA at Munich Business School is focused on management and leadership competencies and covers three main areas:
  • Business Know-How: Practical knowledge in core economic and business areas such as Finance and Marketing with an emphasis on International Management
  • Social Competence: Communicating and dealing with others, getting ideas across, recognizing and handling conflicts
  • Self Competence: Recognizing one’s own strengths and weaknesses and dealing with them accordingly
The mission of MBS is to incorporate these three essential components of leadership in our curriculum and through our teaching.


Emphases/Curriculum

The Munich Business School Executive MBA program is divided into three terms over a period of 24 months. Each term covers topics from the three major areas of leadership competence, i.e. business know-how, social competence, and self competence. Two international weeks at SDA Bocconi and Singapore Management University add to the international perspective. The master thesis at the end of the program allows applying the acquired knowledge in a corporate environment.

The master thesis at the end of the program demonstrates the student’s profound understanding of current business topics and the ability to apply specific scientific methods to a real-world business situation. The topic will be chosen in collaboration with a company. Therefore the knowledge and research presented in the thesis are valuable for both you and your company.

Practical relevance

Two international weeks at SDA Bocconi and Singapore Management University add to the international perspective of the program.

Singapore Management University

Sample topics covered in former sessions of the international week in Singapore are:

The course modules are supported by company visits. Visits in the past include Asian Pacific Breweries and PSA International Pte Ltd.

SDA Bocconi

Sample topics covered in the international week at SDA Bocconi are:

  • Competition among Countries
  • Inside Cultural Heritage
  • Italy inside the European Community
Lectures are supplemented with case studies and company visits. Companies visited in the past have included Inter Milan and a visit to a cheese producing farm in the Parma region.

Munich Business School requires all potential candidates to meet the following criteria to ensure quality and maintain standards:
  • An above-average first academic degree (Bachelor Degree or equivalent)
  • A minimum of 2 years professional experience after your first degree
  • Because the MBA program is conducted in English, all candidates must have good command of English; those who are not native English speakers are required to submit TOEFL scores. A minimum TOEFL score of 88 points is necessary for enrolment. In case your first degree was completed in English, TOEFL scores will be waived. Alternative language tests accepted are: IELTS min. level 7.0 - Academic Module; TOEIC min. 740 points; Cambrigde Certificate of Proficiency in English.

Organisation

The MBA program at the Munich Business School is led by a highly qualified and experienced faculty with regard to their professional background as well as their teaching skills. Our lecturers use innovative forms of teaching and knowledge transfer and place special emphasis on interdisciplinary approaches.

In addition to the listed faculty lecturers from our partner schools SDA Bocconi and Singapore Managment University as well as guest speakers will be involved.
